Mirissa & The Secret beach – SriLanka

After a couple of hours on the bus, we arrived from Tangalle to Mirissa, where we reserved our room via Booking.com at Era Holiday House for 38 EUR for 2 nights. Landlady was very friendly, and she also had a kid around 3 years old, who was very willing to share her toys with Lia.
One room with one big bed, big enough bedroom, A/C and shared kitchen, fridge and all the tea and coffee we could drink-all we needed for three days stay.After Lia’s nap we went to the famous beach, which was like 2 minutes away. Bay, full of restaurants and beach bars had only one weekness-big waves and strong currants, which seem to be a thing in all the Southern Sri Lanka-which is great if you’re a surfer.At the beach we met another Slovenian couple, who are also travelling with kids. We first ran into each other in Ella and now again-they were obviously following the same touristy road as we did.
After a big breakfast we went to the little secret beach, called….well…Secret Beach ;). We first heard of it on the vlog. It was one of the reasons to visit Mirissa.

Since we were quite early, we had this whole little beach to ourselves-we were more or less alone for the whole day-quite nice ?

About directions you need to check with the locals, or you can find a tuc tuc driver-they all know it. Tuk tuk took us for 200 LRK one way.

Tomorrow we’re going to hunt for the whales (with the camera of course) with the Raja & the Whales watchingtrips.
